January Update

Over the period December 2018-November 2019 we have supported a total of 211 children and young people across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.  We are committed to travelling to meet children and young people in a venue that is convenient for them, making the service accessible to everyone.  We provided a total of 1,286 one to one sessions and these sessions continue to be delivered free of charge.

Coronavirus has resulted in a huge amount of change  for everyone, with little warning or time for us to get used to a very different way of life.  This is causing huge uncertainty and fear for many of us, including children and young people.  This is especially true for those who have already been bereaved and worry that more family members will become ill or die as a result of  contracting Coronavirus.  Sunrise is adapting to working in a very different way and continues to support children and young people affected by loss and bereavement.

I

Exciting news!!!  On Saturday 14th September we won the Celebrate Aberdeen Small Organisation of the Year Award.  It is absolutely fantastic to have all our work recognised in this way.

Would you like to help us continue our work?

Due to increasing demand for our services both in Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire we are looking for sessional workers who have experience of working directly with children and young people affected by loss and bereavement.

If you believe you have the relevant experience and skills and would like to find out more please call Eileen on 07827 755735 or email support@sunrisepartnership.org.  We'd like to hear from you.

Dates for the diary:

Unfortunately all the fundraising events we had planned over the next few months have had to be cancelled.  But we still  need your help to continue supporting children and young people.  Please support usi n any way you can.

Save the date.  Our next Race Night will be Thursday 12th November 2020!

News on more events to follow very soon. If you'd like to arrange a fundraising event or activity, do please get in touch and we can give you posters and leaflets so people know who they are supporting.

Here are a few suggestions - have friends round for coffee or a Movie Night. Order a take away, have a fun evening and make a donation to Sunrise. Hold a Bake Sale at work or anything else you fancy doing. Every penny you raise makes a difference to local children.

You can reach us at info@sunrisepartnership.org  or message us via our Facebook page.

We also have some Sunrise collection boxes.  If your workplace is happy to have one, just let us know and we will get it to you.  Everyone's small change can add up to a significant amount.
